Made-to-Order 8x8 Framed Intaglio

Gorgeous custom made 8x8 gold framed intaglio! Your choice of intaglio style option as well as background color. The frame is matted to a 3x3 opening. The photo shows the intaglio set to the Cornflower Blue background. The frame back has an easel attached for tabletop styling but also comes with hooks to hang on a wall.

Our intaglios are made from high quality art plaster, therefore, each piece can slightly vary. Intaglio is an Italian word meaning "engrave." Intaglios were used to commemorate historical figures, architecture, and places. Before photography, people would collect Intaglios as keepsakes of their travels. During the 18th century, plaster intaglios became souvenirs for those embarking on the Grand Tour, a European journey emphasizing art and history.
